Happy New Year! I hope you all enjoyed the holidays and are ready for a fresh start without stress or guilt around food! If there's one thing I wish for you in the new year, it's to focus on what helps you feel your best and block out any messages that tell you you're not good enough. As a health at every size (HAES) and anti-diet dietitian the new year is always a battle. There are hundreds of diet and weight loss messages surrounding us this time of year that tell you to change your body size or participate in restrictive eating habits and excessive exercising to keep up with unrealistic societal and/or beauty standards. Instead of going on another detox, diet, or cleanse, ask yourself the last time you participated in joyful movement, self-care, and nourished your body with foods you enjoy. You'll feel energized, happy, and less stressed focusing on what works for you instead of against you in managing your health!

Start your day with nourishing your mind, body, and soul with this Wholesome Breakfast Skillet.

How good does this look? I first made this breakfast skillet for some of my dear friends visiting us from New York and it was a hit!

This recipe is delicious and nutritious! What you can't tell from the picture is that it's packed with nutrient rich ingredients and is full of satisfying flavor.

Pro Tip: This breakfast skillet is already a balanced meal since it has a source of fiber, carbohydrate, protein, fat, and vitamins and minerals! If you feel like this meal needs a little extra something, pair it with a bowl of berries, yogurt, or a delicious piece of sourdough bread!
